What's the key to landing a job? Referrals.
They’re the most effective way to secure employment.
But how do you obtain a referral? Networking.
That's right, you have to engage with people.
And while it’s easy for some, it can be incredibly difficult for others.
So if networking makes you feel a little awkward, here are some openers you can use when connecting with other professionals at an event!
Comment on the event or venue: "Hi! I couldn't help but notice the impressive turnout at this event. Have you attended it before? What motivated you to be here today?"
Find common ground: "Hello! I noticed your nametag mentioned [common interest or affiliation]. I’m super interested in [same or related topics]. How do you think [specific aspect] influences our field?"
Seek advice or expertise: "Hello! I'm pretty new to the industry and I really value insights from seasoned professionals like yourself. Based on your experience, what would be the most valuable advice you could offer to someone starting out in this field?"
Now that you’ve broken the ice, dive into a conversation, and remember: If you’re at an event, people are generally there to network, so they’ll appreciate the opportunity to connect!
This is the 2023 Tesla Roadster. It hasn’t come out yet, and in fact, most of us will probably never see it anytime soon.
But you know who will?
Kevin, because he landed a job at Tesla!
“I had been laid off and was a fairly new graduate. Wonsulting kept my hopes up, kept me inspired, and constantly gave advice on every platform.
The live sessions gave me VALUABLE information that people can easily charge tons of money for but with the Wonsulting’s team and its passion, they put people first and offered advice without hesitation. They edited my resume and I landed a job at Tesla and more opportunities!”
A job at a top company like Tesla isn’t just about the name.
It’s about realizing your potential.
It’s about earning a sense of security.
It’s about paying all the bills and having enough to save, to spend, and to enjoy your life with your family.
That’s what a dream job’s all about! And that’s what we deliver with our job search bundles.
The future is uncertain.
But the right career makes it a lot more stable.
We’re excited to announce that we've partnered with The Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC), an organization that empowers refugees and immigrants to land jobs!
Their mission strikes a chord with us:
“As a national refugee resettlement agency, we take responsibility for assigning refugees to local communities across the U.S. and placing them in the hands of trusted organizations that help them meet their immediate and longer-term needs.”
To show our support, we're giving all ECDC admins access to the WonsultingAI tools.
By investing in this partnership, we're putting our technology to work for a heartfelt cause: helping refugees build new lives through gainful employment.
A little tech can go a long way!
The US economy is probably heading for a recession.
Yet a recent EY report suggests a hopeful future for hospitality. Here’s what to expect in the industry:
Hotels are making more money from their rooms than the national average.
The rise of remote work means people are opting for 'workcations', blending travel and work. Hello, hotel stays!
Hotels are back in hiring mode, anticipating a surge in guests post-pandemic.
Hospitality roles range from revenue management to guest relations, and from HR to engineering. So if you’re looking to spice up your job search with something different, use sites like hosco.com, hcareers.com, or UK based caterer.com to find a career in hospitality!
